Surrogacy in Hyderabad, Telangana

Surrogacy is a pregnancy carried by a woman for intending parents who cannot carry one themselves. In India it is governed by the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, under which only altruistic surrogacy is lawful: the surrogate's medical expenses and insurance are paid, and any further payment is prohibited. The embryo is created by IVF, usually from the intending parents' own eggs and sperm, and transferred to the surrogate's womb, so the clinical part of surrogacy is an IVF cycle run across two people.

Two registrations are in play. The ART Act's Level 2 covers the IVF, and all 5 Hyderabad listings on this directory that name surrogacy on their own website are registered at Level 2 on the national ART registry. The Surrogacy Act separately requires a clinic that carries out surrogacy procedures to be registered as a surrogacy clinic, and that registration is not shown in the registry extract this directory uses, so ask each clinic to show it. 1 of the 5 holds an ART bank registration.

Intending parents need certificates before treatment begins, including one of medical indication, and the parentage and custody of the child are settled by a court order. The surrogate has to meet the Act's conditions on age and health, and she must give informed consent. Ask a clinic how it handles each step, how long the approvals usually take, and who explains the law to the surrogate, independently of the intending parents. Ask what happens if the intending parents' circumstances change during the pregnancy, and how the clinic makes sure the surrogate's own medical decisions remain hers.
